Abstact Expressionism

Abstract Expressionism is achieved using long exposure times, smaller apertures, and phyisical motion of the camera.  Unlike painters, photographers are only able to use colors that exist in reality.  Painters can create  specific hues to give them the shade or tone they require.  Photographers must find them.

The illusion of depth in these images is created by the use of actual depth,  painters can accomplish this with their placement of adjacent colors.  The darker colors that appear to recede in these images is due to their placement within their environment.

The motion of the camera (whether it is zoom, physical motion, or both) is entirely up to me as the photographer.  In these images there is no use of a tripod, all the motions that are created are determined by fate, allowing me to create compelling images that follow the principles of design, while still maintaining an aesthetic sense.
